This yoga class is designed for seniors with the purpose of maintaining strength and agility, improving balance and developing mental focus. It uses simple balance poses in various positions (on hands and knees, feet and pelvis) to work on physical balance and Nadi Shodhana (Alternate Nostril Breathing) to balance the system on the physiological level.

I am interested in a restorative yoga training and a training for seniors.
I am a Kripalu graduate and do not see a training program for this. I agree this is a growing segment of the yoga business and an important part. Can you direct me in to a training specifically for Seniors or Older Adults.
    Thank you and Namaste

Hi Lauren! I am not aware of any specific training for Yoga for seniors, although there is plenty of material to be found on the subject. One of my guest bloggers shared some of her resources here; I hope it will be helpful for you!

      Hi Lauren,
I was going over some of Olga past entries and found your question. Duke University offers a certification program on yoga for seniors. Most of my students are 45 and older, adaptations due to health concerns always guides your practice decisions.
      best wishes,
