Jathara Parivrtti adaptations (short videos)
4If a picture is worth a thousand words, then what about a video? I think it’s worth at least twice as much, especially when it comes to illustrating important points. On Wednesday we spent all this time praising Jathara Parivrtti and all its virtues, and today we feature 12 short videos that show you how to adapt it depending on your intention.

Hi, Olga,
This post, I think, follows one of the most useful approaches.
Each of us knows how to move from almost every pose into sub-variations; the point is to organize these “subs” one by one, _then_ to select and chose.
Thank you,
Alexander
Thx. for this post with useful,l subtle details.
Excellent, clear instructions and very helpful for teaching. Which particular variations would you suggest as helpful for SI joint pain? Many thank you’s, J
Thank you Janis! For SI pain you can do any adaptation that involves lifting the top leg (as long as it’s not too strong for the student), but I would recommend that she lies on her side, instead of the back. That way she will be sure to keep the hips stacked on top of each other and not pull on the sacrum. And afterwards it might be useful to go into the twist (by moving the upper body into it, like in adaptation 10).
