Resilience: whole body yoga practice

Many years ago I used to have a remarkable student who came to my classes twice a week. He was a blind man who taught ballroom dancing. He was a firm believer in conscious mindful movement. One of the expressions he used had stuck with me for all those years. He said: “Speed hides many sins.”

This is true for yoga as well. When we rush through the practice we skip important details, lose connection to breath and perpetuate this “go, go, go!” pace that already plagues our lives. So instead in the practice below we take time: time to breathe, time to move with the breath, time to feel the pose, time to acknowledge where we are and who we are. This 65-minute practice takes time to “oil up” the entire body, to slow down the breath and to look within. It is a balanced whole-body practice that helps you cultivate and maintain physical, energetic and emotional resilience. Give it a try!
