A yoga student said to me once: “I have all the tools I need to deal with my current issue, but I don’t use them. I know the kinds of yoga practices I should do, but I don’t feel motivated enough to do them.” If you find yourself in a similar place of needing yoga yet feeling ambivalent about restarting your practice, you might need a boost to get yourself going. In physics, the term activation energy is used to describe the initial spark that is needed to catalyze a reaction. Similarly, we need activation energy (both physical and mental) to overcome inertia and get started on some new activity. Once you overcome that initial resistance, it’s easier to continue on your path.

One way to get yourself going with your yoga practice is to connect with like-minded people who use yoga and yoga therapy every day to deal with complex health challenges and get inspired by their knowledge, enthusiasm and experience. You can join my teacher Gary Kraftsow and over 100 doctors, yoga therapists and yoga researchers for a three-day virtual conference with educational presentations and interactive panel discussions that focus on the integration of yoga therapy into healthcare, use of yoga therapy to address health challenges, and cultivation of optimal health and well-being.

Global Yoga Therapy Conference (Aug 13-15) is a fully interactive conference experience for healthcare and yoga professionals and individuals in the broader community seeking a better understanding of how yoga and yoga therapy can be used to enhance your health and well-being.

  • Get inspired by how yoga therapy is being used to address some of today’s toughest health challenges: chronic pain, mental health and COVID-related health issues
  • Hear the latest bio-medical research
  • Learn self-care skills for yourself, your patients and students
  • Experience yoga therapy for yourself with your choice from 70 experiential practice sessions
  • Learn how to use yoga to cultivate optimal health at different ages and life stages

Each day of the fully interactive three day virtual conference features 5 keynotes, 2 panel presentations, 6 concurrent community sessions and 2 designated networking & expo hours.

Day 1: Integrating Yoga Therapy into Healthcare

Day 2: Optimal Health at All Ages; Self Care & Managing Pain

Day 3: Healing Our World With Yoga; Safe, Therapeutic, Effective

Check out the conference program and register for one or all three days.

I hope that this event gives you a much-needed boost to reenergize your yoga teaching and your yoga practice!
