How to find private yoga clients: A free CE course for Sequence Wiz members
0A recent article in The New York Times describes the results of the survey of 1,320 mental health therapists in an attempt to understand how Americans are coping with the pandemic. Mental health therapists reported that demand for their services has surged, medication needs have increased, many couples are struggling, and many therapists are being pushed to their limits. Some of the most common words that people use to describe their mental state in the last two years were anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, stressed, isolated, and stuck.
This situation is not about to magically change any time soon. Nobody knows what the next year will bring. What we do know is that we need to take care of our own mental health and try to support each other. We also know that yoga is uniquely positioned to enable us to take care of both our bodies and minds. Sometimes we forget that yoga’s original purpose was to “settle the vortex of the mind”, and we need that more than ever nowadays. That is why this year we will turn our attention to the inner workings of our minds and explore how we can use yoga to deal with stress, anxiety, isolation, and imposed limitations.
Now is also a great time to connect with our students one-on-one and help them through this challenging time. Whether or not you’ve considered working with students individually before, right now is a good time to start. The social aspect of a yoga class is certainly important, and we all need to restore our sense of connection to other people. But in a private yoga session, we can go so much deeper. We can take time to listen to the struggles of an individual student, explore where they hold tension, help them establish new lifestyle habits, and create unique tailored yoga practices.
Even though so many people are struggling with their physical and mental health right now, they rarely consider individual yoga sessions as a solution to their problems. A lot of that has to do with the widespread perception of yoga as a class experience and as an exercise routine. It is up to us to communicate the value of individual yoga sessions to our potential students.
If you are not quite sure who your target audience is and how to communicate the value of your services to them, please check out my CE Course Where to Find Private Yoga Clients and How to Attract Them.
If you want to have a steady flow of private clients, you need to figure out answers to these three questions:
- Who are you and why should your potential clients trust you? It involves demonstrating your expertise and establishing trust with your potential clients.
- How are private yoga sessions different from classes? You need to be able to demonstrate a clear contrast between them and illustrate the benefits that only private yoga sessions can offer.
- Which specific problems can private yoga sessions solve for a particular person? Everybody wants to know—what’s in it for me? How will my life be better if I do this?
In this course, you will find answers to all those questions and figure out how to communicate those answers to your potential clients. We will cover five reliable channels for finding private yoga clients and discuss how to connect with potential new clients via those channels. This course also teaches you how to:
- Establish an effective personal web presence,
- Figure out the logistics of seeing clients one-on-one,
- Create systems that ensure an ongoing flow of clients,
- Set your goals and intentions for one-on-one work.
Adding private yoga clients to your yoga teaching roaster can boost your teaching confidence, deepen your knowledge, and ensure a steady income. This course is grounded in my personal experience over the past 20 years and contains the strategies I used many times to find countless private yoga clients. In addition to prerecorded video content, you will also get a workbook with short assignments that show you how to apply the lessons you learn in your life and teaching right away. At the end of the course, you will complete a final project and get my feedback on your work. This final project will help you organize your thinking about who you are as a yoga teacher, which groups of people you want to work with, and how you can present your services to them in the most effective way.
You can purchase this course for $150, or you can get it for FREE as part of your Sequence Wiz membership.
This course qualifies for 4 CECs (Yoga Alliance and IAYT) upon completion of the final project.
